From AutoWeek's 2002 Buyers Guide:
"Braking (of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06) is fantastic. Aided by Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires -- designed exclusively for the car -- the Z06 set a new AutoWeek AutoFile record by stopping from 60 mph in just 105 feet. That beat the previous record-holder, the Porsche 911 Turbo, by five feet and the Boxster S by six.
On the skidpad (in third gear, with the traction control off) we encountered some understeer. Yet the Z06 posted an excellent 0.95g average vs. the 911 Turbo's 0.93g and the Boxster S's 0.92. We again believe the tires deserve more than the usual amount of credit -- they supplant the heavier, less-grippy run-flats on standard Vettes."
